1. Who We Are
The African Health Sentinel is a daily healthcare intelligence briefing published by EvolveChain Healthcare Ltd, a Global Business Company registered in Mauritius (company number 210170).

2. What Data We Collect
We collect the minimum data necessary to deliver the service:
Email address — provided by you when you subscribe or when your email is entered to access the web viewer.
Subscription tier and status — whether you are a free or paid subscriber.
Payment information — processed and stored exclusively by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit card number, bank account details, or other financial information.
Access logs — when you access the web viewer, our server records standard web access data (IP address, browser type, date and time of access). This is used for service monitoring and aggregate usage statistics only.
We do not collect your name, phone number, physical address, or any other personal information beyond what is listed above.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data solely for the following purposes: to deliver the briefing (sending you the daily email and verifying your access to the web viewer); to manage your subscription (processing sign-ups, cancellations, and tier changes); to communicate with you about the service (including subscription confirmations, payment receipts, service updates, and material changes to these terms); and to monitor service performance (aggregate, anonymised usage statistics help us understand readership patterns and improve the briefing).
We will never use your email address for marketing unrelated to The African Health Sentinel, and we will never sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for their marketing purposes.
4. Third-Party Processors
Stripe — payment processing. Data shared: email, payment details. Privacy policy.
SendGrid (Twilio) — email delivery. Data shared: email address. Privacy policy.
DigitalOcean — server hosting. Data shared: access logs (IP, browser). Privacy policy.
These providers act as data processors on our behalf and are contractually bound to protect your data. We do not share your data with any other third parties.
5. Data Retention
Active subscribers: Your email address and subscription data are retained for as long as your subscription (free or paid) is active.
Unsubscribed users: If you unsubscribe, your email address is removed from our mailing list within 7 days. Access logs are retained in anonymised form for up to 90 days for service monitoring purposes.
Payment records: Stripe retains transaction records in accordance with their own data retention policies and applicable financial regulations.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data: access (request a copy of the personal data we hold about you); correction (request that we correct inaccurate data); deletion (request that we delete your personal data); portability (request your data in a structured, machine-readable format); objection (object to the processing of your data); and withdraw consent (withdraw your consent to receive communications at any time).

7. Unsubscribing
You can unsubscribe from The African Health Sentinel at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in the footer of any email we send you, or by emailing us directly at matt.tyson@evolvechainhealthcare.com.
Unsubscribing from emails does not automatically cancel a paid subscription. To cancel a paid subscription, please use the Stripe customer portal or contact us.
8. Cookies
The web viewer at intel.evolvechainhealthcare.com does not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or similar tracking services. Standard server-side session data may be used to verify your subscriber status during a browsing session. This data is not shared with any third party.
9. International Data Transfers
Our server is hosted by DigitalOcean in a data centre located in Europe. Your data may be processed in jurisdictions outside your country of residence. We take reasonable steps to ensure your data is protected in accordance with this policy regardless of where it is processed.
10. Children
The African Health Sentinel is a professional intelligence service intended for industry professionals. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it promptly.
11. Regulatory Compliance
This policy is designed with reference to the following data protection frameworks: POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act, South Africa); GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation, EU and UK); CAN-SPAM Act (United States); and the Data Protection Act 2017 (Mauritius).
If you believe we have not complied with your data protection rights, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority in your jurisdiction.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify subscribers by email. The latest version will always be available at intel.evolvechainhealthcare.com/privacy.
